Katrina's Index

There use to be a couple of forums frequented by photographers and models. I cruised them regularly to see new examples of others works. Those boards are still used by some photogs, but most have moved on, and all of the models quit using them some time ago. Up until this time, I worked with many amateur models. Although many were enthusiastic, there seem to be something missing either in my direction or the composition. I?d seen Katrina?s work with several prominent photographers in the region, and also with many amateur photographers. Know matter who she was working with, you could see her style show thru, an elegant beauty that was always present. One day while cruising the forums I read that Katrina was traveling thru my area, and was looking to work with photogs. Even though it was short notice, I took a chance, and contacted her. That session was a defining moment for me, and my photography. I never knew how much a gifted model could contribute to the work. I stared at the negatives for days. Yes, the lighting and basic composition was mine, but there was something more, something that was not present in my previous work. It was collaboration: both parties working to create an image that captures the moment. I owe much of my following photography to Katrina.
